This deluxe edition takes listeners on a profound journey, encouraging them to step away from the relentless pursuit of answers to countless questions and instead find peace in surrender. Citizens describe this project as “a record for the lost, last, and least.” The live acoustic additions capture the magnetic nature of the band and communicate directly with their audience, exploring themes of imagination, discovery, and the beauty of divine mystery.
Frontman Zach Bolen offered a thought-provoking perspective on the album, saying, “Many times [we think] we are grazing the edges of God, not realizing it’s our edges that we are bumping up against.” This deluxe edition of the album creates a space where questions, shifts in perspective, and creative expression are all welcome.
