Tyscot Records, the world’s oldest continuously operating African American-owned gospel music label, is marking its 50th anniversary with an impressive showing at the 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, earning a total of 19 nominations across its roster of acclaimed artists and projects.

Leading the nominations is gospel icon John P. Kee, who secured seven nods for his celebrated album Throwback: An Evening with John P. Kee, Vol. 1. Released through Kee Music Group and Tyscot Records, the project continues to resonate with audiences following Kee’s widely praised NPR Tiny Desk Concert appearance earlier this year. Among his nominations are Male Artist of the Year and Special Event Album of the Year, further cementing his legacy as one of gospel music’s most influential figures.

Also earning seven nominations is the Grammy Award-winning collaborative album Heart of Mine from Darrel Walls and R&B powerhouse PJ Morton. The critically acclaimed project received recognition in major categories including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. Their standout single “Able,” featuring gospel vocalist Kim Burrell, earned a nomination for Song of the Year, while Morton also received nominations for Producer of the Year and Recorded Music Packaging of the Year. The album has already surpassed seven million streams, highlighting its broad impact within contemporary gospel music.

Veteran gospel artist Deitrick Haddon and Voices of Unity added three nominations for ChainBreaker 2.5, a celebratory project commemorating the 25th anniversary of Haddon’s groundbreaking Chain Breaker album. Among its honors is a nomination for Music Video of the Year for the inspirational track “Find Jesus.”

Elsewhere, Jason Clayborn’s collaboration with Melvin Crispell III on “Whatever It Is” earned nominations in both the Duo/Chorus of the Year and Contemporary Duo/Chorus Group of the Year categories, recognizing the powerful chemistry between the two gospel talents.

Newly signed Tyscot affiliate Brandon Camphor & One Way also received recognition with a nomination for Best Traditional Duo/Chorus Gospel of the Year for their stirring performance of “In Christ Alone.” The nomination follows the group’s first Stellar Award win last year, and signals continued momentum for the Baltimore-based ensemble.

As Tyscot Records celebrates five decades of championing gospel music, these nominations underscore the label’s enduring influence and commitment to developing artists whose music inspires faith, hope, and transformation across generations.

The 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will be recorded live at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, on August 15, 2026, bringing together some of the most celebrated voices in gospel music for one of the genre’s biggest nights.
