Carlo Audino Unveils Poetic New Single “Luna Calante”

Italian singer-songwriter Carlo Audino releases his evocative new single “Luna Calante,” a deeply reflective and poetic composition inspired by the life and legacy of Saint Francis of Assisi. Created to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the saint’s passing, the song blends spirituality, nature, and introspection into a timeless musical narrative.

Set on the night of October 3rd, 1226, beneath a waning moon, “Luna Calante” imagines a symbolic encounter in a quiet forest between Saint Francis and an aging wolf—a reference to the saint’s well-known connection with animals and all living beings. In this intimate exchange, the weary wolf, nearing the end of its life, asks Francis to accompany him on his final journey.

This moving dialogue becomes a powerful metaphor for acceptance, compassion, and the sacred relationship between humanity and nature. Through delicate lyricism and atmospheric soundscapes, the song invites listeners into a suspended moment between life and death, solitude and companionship, light and shadow.

Audino’s songwriting captures the emotional depth of this spiritual encounter, offering a piece that resonates with universal themes of peace, humility, and love—hallmarks of Saint Francis’ enduring influence.

Born in Rome in 1964, Carlo Audino began his musical journey at a young age, inspired by artists such as Ivan Graziani and Mango. Over the years, he honed his craft through live performances across Italy and the UK, while also developing skills as an arranger and sound engineer in his own recording studio.

His path has included experiences like attending the Sanremo Song Academy alongside a young Tiziano Ferro, further shaping his artistic perspective. Since 2021, Audino has begun sharing his original works with a wider audience, marking a new chapter in his creative journey.

With “Luna Calante,” Carlo Audino offers more than a song—it is a contemplative tribute and a meditative experience, inviting listeners to reflect on life, mortality, and the quiet beauty of compassion that transcends time.
