Ghanaian gospel musician Prince Kwadwo Sarfo is introducing a new chapter in his music ministry with “This Is Zion,” a spiritually driven release shaped by prayer, obedience and a moment of divine inspiration.
The emerging artist, who was born in Goaso in the late 1990s and hails from Ghana’s Central Region, is steadily building his presence within the gospel music space while maintaining a professional career as a full-time chemist with the Ghana Standards Authority.
For Sarfo, music is an extension of his faith. His latest release, “This Is Zion,” reflects that approach from its very beginning. The song was conceived during a prayer meeting led by Rev. Benhardt Ofosuapea, following an instruction for Sarfo to write a song about Zion.
The inspiration came after Rev. Ofosuapea noticed the word “Zion” prominently displayed at the entrance of the church and directed Sarfo to respond to the moment by creating a song.
Sarfo took the instruction into prayer, and the creative process unfolded almost immediately. Within minutes, he began receiving the lyrics and melody that would eventually become “This Is Zion.” What began as a simple act of obedience has since developed into a complete gospel release that Sarfo regards as a testimony of God’s faithfulness and the power of responding to spiritual direction.
The song explores Zion as a place of God’s presence, worship, identity and spiritual encounter. Through its message, Sarfo seeks to encourage listeners to look beyond music as entertainment and instead experience the song as an invitation to deepen their relationship with God.
“This Is Zion” also arrives as another step in Sarfo’s developing musical catalogue. Although still an emerging artist, he has already released an original song alongside a collection of gospel medleys, gradually establishing his voice within Ghana’s gospel community.
His ministry extends beyond recorded music. Sarfo hosts Glory in His Presence, an annual worship gathering in Accra, as well as the Give Us You Conference in Kumasi. Both platforms reflect his desire to create spaces centred on worship, prayer and spiritual fellowship.
His ability to balance these activities with his career as a chemist adds another dimension to his journey. Rather than pursuing music separately from his professional life, Sarfo continues to develop both paths while building a ministry rooted in faith and service.
With “This Is Zion,” he offers listeners a song with a story that began before the recording studio. Its origins in prayer give the release a personal significance, transforming what could have been another gospel song into a reflection of obedience and spiritual conviction.
