RIAA Platinum-selling, Dove Award-winning artist Katy Nichole releases her highly anticipated new single When I Fall today, November 22, across all digital and streaming platforms. The track marks the first reveal from her upcoming sophomore album, with the title and release date yet to be announced.
Following the success of three back-to-back No. 1 radio hits from her record-breaking debut album Jesus Changed My Life, When I Fall has already captured the hearts of millions, becoming a viral sensation on TikTok and Instagram. Early videos from Nichole, in which she sang the song’s chorus, have amassed more than 200 million views on TikTok alone and been shared by over 100,000 creators on the platform.
The song was born out of a deeply personal moment of vulnerability. “When I Fall was a song I wrote out of complete desperation,” Nichole shares. “I just wept at my piano, crying out, feeling mentally, spiritually, and physically drained. The words I sang were what I was praying in that moment. So tired of trying to just be OK, I decided to be honest with myself and with God, and God met me exactly where I was.”
The track reflects Nichole’s desire to be authentic in her relationship with God, finding peace in bringing every part of herself—joy, sadness, frustration—before Him. She draws inspiration from Psalm 27:7-8, which reminds her to be persistent in prayer, trusting that God is always listening. “In His presence, I will find everything that I need,” she adds.
When I Fall is now available on all streaming platforms, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Katy Nichole. Stay tuned for more updates on her upcoming sophomore album.
