Matthew West, renowned singer and songwriter, has brought the magic of the true meaning of Christmas to life with his new track, “Because of Bethlehem,” now available on all digital streaming platforms. Inspired by the New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado’s book of the same title, this song captures the essence of the holiday season. With West’s uplifting vocals, “Because of Bethlehem” serves as a reminder of God’s love, sent to us through His son, Jesus, and the genuine reason for celebrating this season.
“I’m thrilled to share this new song for the holidays,” says West. “This song was actually inspired by a book written by one of my favorite authors, Max Lucado. I saw the title of the book, ‘Because of Bethlehem,’ and immediately thought, ‘that would be a great song title!’ Then it became my mission to write a song and surprise my friend Max with lyrics that would hopefully capture the same heartbeat of his book. The message is this: the hope of the world had humble beginnings. It’s because of Bethlehem and the birth of a Savior that we can experience joy, love, peace, and even the hope of eternity.”
West is gearing up for his second annual Come Home for Christmas weekend in Franklin, Tenn., taking place from December 1 to 3. The weekend includes various events, such as a Christmas dinner with the West family, the Franklin tree lighting, a meet and greet, worship time, and much more. On December 2, he will grace the stage at the Fisher Center for a special concert, where he will perform holiday classics, his original tune “Come Home For Christmas,” surprises, and more.
Earlier this month, West received ASCAP’s prestigious Golden Note Award, presented to songwriters, composers, and artists who have achieved extraordinary career milestones. Past recipients include iconic artists like Garth Brooks, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Reba, Jay-Z, Usher, and more. Additionally, he celebrated another milestone by achieving his 30th number one song as an artist-songwriter combined.
Matthew West is renowned as one of Christian music’s most prolific singer-songwriters, and his latest album, “MY STORY YOUR GLORY,” is now available. The album consists of 22 tracks, with the first part, “MY STORY,” reflecting the countless stories shared by fans over the years, along with personal experiences. The second part, “YOUR GLORY,” marks his first official Gospel worship album.
