Platinum recording artist, GRAMMY-award-winning songwriter, producer, and renowned worship leader Brooke Ligertwood is making waves once again with the release of her second single, “Desert Song,” from her highly anticipated sophomore solo album, “EIGHT.” This emotive anthem, coupled with an accompanying music video, offers solace and perspective to those who have weathered challenging circumstances or faced spiritual desolation.
“Desert Song” is one of 11 exceptional tracks featured on “EIGHT,” set to make its global debut on Oct. 20. The song’s poignant lyrics and soaring melody resonate deeply, emphasizing the unwavering faithfulness of God in all seasons of life. Ligertwood’s powerful vocals declare, “All of my life in every season / You are still God / I have a reason to sing / I have a reason to worship.” She reflects, “Suffering is seasonal, but praise can be perpetual. We don’t get to opt out of the former but can always opt into the latter. ‘Desert Song’ exists to be an on-ramp for that purpose.”
The release of “Desert Song” follows Ligertwood’s premiere single, “Fear of God,” from her forthcoming album. “EIGHT” marks the continuation of her solo journey, building on the success of her debut solo offering, “SEVEN (Live),” which has accumulated over 146 million global streams since its release in 2022.
Brooke Ligertwood’s impact extends far beyond her solo endeavors. She has penned a growing anthology of beloved church anthems like “What A Beautiful Name,” “King of Kings,” and “Hosanna,” as well as devotional favorites like “Awake My Soul,” “New Wine,” “None But Jesus,” and many more. With an impressive 7 billion career streams and 20 million career album sales, her songs have been streamed globally over 1.5 billion times, translated into more than 15 languages, and have claimed the top spots on the CCLI chart with two No. 1s and several Top 25 hits.
