Tomlin will serve in this capacity through May 31, 2025, engaging with students through mentorship, workshops, and worship services.

“As a Christian university, we want our students to know Who is worthy of worship and how we can enter into a relationship with the creator of the universe,” said Pepperdine President Jim Gash. “As Pepperdine’s artist and worship ambassador, Chris Tomlin is uniquely positioned to cultivate a heart of worship among our students.”

Widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in contemporary Christian music, Tomlin has shaped worship worldwide with timeless songs such as “How Great Is Our God,” “Good Good Father,” and “Our God.” His partnership with Pepperdine is expected to inspire and guide students in their personal and communal expressions of faith.

“It is an honor to be invited by Pepperdine to be their inaugural Artist and Worship Ambassador,” said Tomlin. “Throughout my life, many people and moments have shaped and guided my mission to help give people a voice to worship God. My hope is that this incredible opportunity helps to encourage, inspire, and guide the next generation of faith leaders.”

Through this role, Tomlin will share his musical expertise, faith journey, and leadership experience with students, reinforcing Pepperdine’s commitment to fostering a deep and meaningful worship culture on campus.
