Bethel Music’s David Funk has released the “Beauty” EP, which features two new versions of his single “Beauty.” The EP includes a captivating spontaneous live version titled “Beauty/We Fall Down” and an intimate acoustic version recorded for Bethel Music’s Pine Street Sessions.
Originally featured on the album “Come Up Here,” the song “Beauty” emphasizes the idea that Jesus was sent by God in His image to Earth, allowing us to know Him better. The song reflects on how Jesus came to reveal the Father to humanity through His life, death, and resurrection. Inspired by passages like Colossians 1:15-20 and the opening of the Gospel of John, the song aims to capture the awe-inspiring majesty of Christ and the Father. David Funk’s hope is that listeners are reminded of the incredible gift of knowing Jesus and, through Him, knowing the Father Himself.
Originally from North Georgia, David Funk became a part of the Bethel Music Collective in 2020. Growing up watching his father play piano on worship teams, he developed a passion for music and worship. He started playing the guitar at a young age and began leading worship during his high school years. One of his notable contributions to Bethel Music is leading the song “Touch of Heaven / Alabaster Heart (Live),” which captures a powerful moment of worship. His desire is to lead people into the presence of God, where everyone’s focus is solely on Him.
