Warner Music Nashville MULTI-PLATINUM star Gabby Barrett has revealed the details of her highly anticipated sophomore album, titled “Chapter & Verse,” scheduled for release on February 2, 2024. Following her PLATINUM debut “Goldmine,” the album promises to offer a deeper and more autobiographical exploration of Barrett’s life and experiences. As a preview, she has also shared a poignant track from the album called “Growin’ Up Raising You.”
Gabby Barrett, known for her chart-topping hits like “I Hope,” “The Good Ones,” and “Pick Me Up,” takes greater creative control on “Chapter & Verse,” co-writing and co-producing several tracks, including the already released “Glory Days” and “Cowboy Back.” The album delves into Barrett’s country roots and expands the emotional depth of her songwriting, offering a personal portrait of her journey as a wife and mother of two children, with a third on the way. The album’s title, “Chapter & Verse,” signifies both the chapters and verses in each book of the Bible and the ongoing chapters in her marriage, family, career, and life.
On “Growin’ Up Raising You,” Barrett delivers a heartwarming ballad that reflects the fears and hopes of new motherhood. The song, written by Barrett, Jon Nite, Zach Kale, and Jimmy Robbins, captures the complexities of parenting with vulnerability and strength, expressing the challenges and joys of raising children.
Barrett expresses, “‘Growin’ Up Raising You’ is a very sensitive song for me. I’m only 23 – I don’t have all the answers to everything, and I haven’t gotten everything figured out. I’m doing the best that I can while trying to raise other people to be the best people they can be. I feel so blessed to be able to have three little lives that I can help to flourish while I’m also trying to figure out life myself.”
