The inspiration for the song came during a worship service when Celeste found herself asking why she continues to sing with such passion and why she chooses to lead worship rather than step back and allow someone else to take her place.
In that moment, Celeste says she felt God drawing her back to the story of Easter, the ultimate example of surrender, faith, and worship in the midst of suffering, pain, and uncertainty. That revelation became the foundation for “That’s My Why.”
Co-written with Katy Reynolds, the song continued to take shape through live performances and writers’ rounds, from Pensacola Beach, Florida, to Central Pennsylvania.
Inspired by the biblical question, “Where else would I go apart from Your presence?” “That’s My Why” captures Celeste’s decision to remain close to God regardless of the season she is facing.
