Belgian singer-songwriter and sound engineer Nolvo has released his new single “Charbon,” continuing a powerful creative shift shaped by faith, personal transformation, and emotional renewal.
Known for handling both the writing and mixing of his own music, Nolvo has built a reputation for a constantly evolving sound rooted in melody, introspection, and lived experience. After more than a decade working in rap, his artistic direction has taken a profound turn toward gospel-inspired music, blending rap, Afrobeat, and pop influences with a spiritually driven message.
“Charbon” arrives in the wake of his 2025 gospel project Born Again, a seven-track body of work that marked a significant turning point in both his sound and lyrical focus. Where his earlier writing often reflected struggles with depression and emotional weight, his newer material centers on faith, healing, and the transformative power of God’s love.
Much of Nolvo’s music draws from deeply personal experiences, including growing up with two ill parents and navigating periods of emotional difficulty. These themes continue to shape his songwriting, but are now reframed through a lens of hope, gratitude, and spiritual reflection.
Following his conversion and artistic rebirth, Nolvo describes his current work as an expression of renewed perspective, where questions of identity and pain are met with a stronger focus on purpose and belief.
With “Charbon,” Nolvo continues to expand his gospel-influenced sound, merging modern production with heartfelt storytelling and reaffirming his place as an artist in transition—one whose music reflects both struggle and spiritual awakening.
