Alternative metal band RED, known for their GRAMMY-nominated and RIAA Certified Gold-selling music, has released their highly anticipated eighth studio album, “RATED R.” The album is now available at digital and streaming platforms worldwide through RED ENTERTAINMENT / The Fuel Music.

“RATED R” is a powerful display of RED’s signature symphonic elements, piano-driven atmospheres, and heavy yet melodic guitar work. Produced by RED’s own guitarist Anthony Armstrong, the album delves into thought-provoking themes, addressing the ideological and interpersonal divisions and suffering prevalent in modern society.

The album continues the narrative that RED has been weaving since their second LP, “Innocence & Instinct” (2009). To complement the release, the band has unveiled the music video for “Surrogates,” the lead single from “RATED R.” The video, directed by RED’s drummer Brian Medeiros, is a prequel to the series that has garnered over 170 million views on YouTube. RED fans can also anticipate the release of “The Redeemers,” a short film featuring the band as suspected outlaws in an Old West setting.

In addition to “Surrogates,” the album includes previously released tracks “Cold World,” co-written by Anthony and Breaking Benjamin’s Keith Wallen, and “Minus It All.” “Your Devil is a Ghost,” a powerful prayer for resolution from past pain, will also be added to SiriusXM Octane’s playlist in the coming week.

“RATED R” features the most expansive lineup for RED since their 2015 album “Of Beauty and Rage.” Former percussionist Joe Rickard, who contributed to “GONE” (2017) and “DECLARATION” (2020), returns to the band for mixing, programming, and songwriting.
