Anchor Hymns, a collective passionate about reviving the hymnal tradition, is delighted to introduce their latest offering, the EP “The Beauty of The Heart of Christ.” This project features six simple yet profound songs that echo the nature of God and are intended to be cherished across generations.
Inspired by their love for the rich hymnal tradition, Anchor Hymns embarked on a mission to breathe new life into this heritage with fresh compositions. Recorded live in one take, the EP captures the essence of community as friends gathered around a piano and an acoustic guitar. It incorporates a “call-and-response” element, inviting listeners to actively participate in singing, fostering a sense of unity and togetherness.
Andrew Osenga, the founder of Anchor Hymns, described the EP as “a beautiful river of friendship and melody, winding down the hill from the wellspring of Scripture.” Rooted in 1 John 3:16 – “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us…” – the songs urge listeners to respond with acts of mercy and generous living, flowing from the abundant love of God.
