After delivering the reverent and reflective “In Christ Alone,” Southern Gospel favorites Anthem Edition are turning up the energy with their latest Sonlite Records single, “Something’s Going On ‘Round Here.” Packed with lively country influences and an infectious spirit of celebration, the new release captures the excitement and wonder surrounding the life-changing power of Jesus.
Driven by bright guitar riffs, resonator guitar, and spirited fiddle work from legendary studio musician David Johnson, the track blends Southern Gospel tradition with upbeat country flair. The song moves dynamically between the group’s vocalists across its tightly crafted verses, building momentum into a powerful and crowd-ready chorus.
“Something’s going on… can you feel it in the air?” shared Anthem Edition’s Tim Rackley. “From Galilee to every heart, His love is moving everywhere. The Man from Galilee is still changing lives — this is more than a song, it’s a stirring of His presence.”
Written by acclaimed Gospel songwriters Kenna Turner West, Jason Cox, and Belinda Smith, “Something’s Going On ‘Round Here” reimagines the atmosphere of anticipation and excitement that surrounded Jesus during His earthly ministry. Through vivid storytelling and energetic instrumentation, the song invites listeners into the awe and curiosity that spread from town to town as lives were transformed.
Rackley believes the song is already proving to be a standout moment in the group’s live performances. “Something’s Going On is an upbeat group feature song with a strong message that builds excitement in concerts as we have started sharing it live,” he explained. “This song will be a great ending to Anthem Edition’s concerts in the future!”
The single is available in Dolby Atmos spatial audio on major streaming platforms including Apple Music, Amazon Music, and TIDAL.
Originally formed in 2003 as The Old Paths by Doug Roark and Tim Rackley, the group quickly became a respected force in Southern Gospel music. After earning national recognition and multiple chart successes, the group returned from a hiatus in 2017 before rebranding as Anthem Edition in 2022. With the additions of Andrew Utech and Cameron Edens, the quartet continues to build on its rich legacy while embracing a fresh new era.
The group remains part of the respected Crossroads Music family, a leading name in Southern Gospel, Bluegrass, and Americana music that has helped shape the genre for decades.
