Nigerian artist Limoblaze has released a vibrant new single titled “My Matter,” featuring the collaborative efforts of Nigerian Gospel Singer/Songwriter Victor Thompson and UK artist Becca Folkes. The song fuses afrobeat rhythms and bright layered vocals, delivering a message of prioritizing praise and thanksgiving to God in all situations.
Describing the essence of the song, Limoblaze stated, “This song is about prioritizing praise and thanksgiving to God regardless of the situation.” The track combines afrobeat sounds with uplifting vocals on the chorus and worshipful verses that highlight God’s faithfulness throughout every season of life.
Becca Folkes opens her verse with the words, “My brother said no matter the weather, I deh go praise You forever, Whether the middle of the storm or I’m walking through the valley, We gon’ do this together.” Her verse speaks to the strength and companionship that believers find while journeying with God.
The song’s release was teased by Limoblaze on August 2nd, inviting fans to guess the featured artists. Victor Thompson and Becca Folkes followed up by sharing videos of them performing the song. Victor Thompson’s previous co-writing credit on the track “This Year (Blessings)” earned him a spot on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Chart at #35.
