Renowned artist, songwriter, and producer Kirk Franklin, a recipient of 19 GRAMMY Awards, has unveiled his latest single, “Needs,” along with the pre-order launch for his upcoming album titled “Father’s Day” (Fo Yo Soul/RCA).
The album is set for release on October 6, 2023, and fans can enjoy instant access to tracks including “Needs,” “Try Love,” and “All Things” by pre-ordering now. “Father’s Day” marks Kirk Franklin’s first solo album since the GRAMMY-winning release of “LONG LIVE LOVE” in 2019.
Alongside the release of a new visualizer video for “Needs,” Kirk Franklin celebrates a significant achievement with the album’s lead single, “All Things,” securing the #1 spot on the latest Gospel radio charts. Notably, this marks his 10th #1 single on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart. Franklin, who both wrote and produced the tracks on his “Father’s Day” album, has assembled a collection of 10 songs. The album also features collaborations with artists such as Le’Andria Johnson, Chandler Moore, Tori Kelly, Jonathan McReynolds, Jekalyn Carr, Kelontae Gavin, and Maranda Curtis.
In the coming weeks, Kirk Franklin will offer a deeper insight into the personal stories behind this new album by premiering his Father’s Day documentary on his YouTube channel on September 15, 2023.
Maintaining a prolific schedule encompassing recording new music, producing television content, and delivering live performances throughout 2022-2023, Kirk Franklin co-headlined the popular Kingdom Tour with Maverick City Music in 2022. Additionally, he hosted the third installment of his Exodus Music and Arts Festival in May 2023 in Irving, TX. He also ventured into the world of television, co-hosting and co-executive producing the dating competition series “The One” alongside his wife Tammy Franklin, which aired on TV One over the summer.
Kirk Franklin is set to return to the stage this month, commencing The Reunion Tour with The Clark Sisters, Israel Houghton, David and Tamela Mann, and Tye Tribbett on September 28, 2023, in Bridgeport, CT. The tour will continue across the United States and include a stop in Toronto, Canada, throughout October and November, concluding on November 24, 2023, in Fort Worth, TX.
