Faby Médina has released her highly anticipated new single, “Wild is The Flower,” the lead track from her forthcoming album of the same name. The song is a heartfelt tribute to powerful, courageous, and subversive women, particularly the trailblazing singers who have inspired generations with their creative energy and fearless artistry.
With her assertive and generous voice, Faby Médina delivers an evocative performance in “Wild is The Flower.” The track is brought to life by an ensemble of celebrated musicians: Léonardo Montana on piano, Stéphane Guillaume on saxophone and arrangements, Zacharie Abraham on double bass, and Pierre-Alain Tocanier on drums. Together, they create a vibrant jazz soundscape that channels the burst of life and creative energy embodied by the great jazz singers.
Born in Paris and originally from the Caribbean, Faby Médina’s journey into music began at an early age. Starting with dance at five years old, she explored various instruments before finding her voice through lyrical singing at 14. Her professional career launched at 20, performing in Jérôme Savary’s adaptation of Bertolt Brecht’s The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, where she showcased her talents as a singer, dancer, and actress.
Over the years, Faby has collaborated with an array of iconic artists, including Rod Stewart, Céline Dion, Kelly Rowland, Michel Jonasz, and Yannick Noah, to name a few. She has also made her mark in cinema and television as a composer, notably contributing the single “Femme” to Luc Besson’s Yamakasi soundtrack. For more than two decades, she has been the lead vocalist for Claude Bolling’s Big Band, performing the composer’s renowned “Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano.”
Through “Wild is The Flower,” Faby Médina celebrates the spirit of women who have shaped the world of music and beyond. Her new single not only pays homage to these legends but also serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience and creative vitality of women everywhere.
