Christian pop/rock artist and songwriter Josh Grove is turning the pressure to constantly stay busy into a message of faith and surrender with his new single, “I’m Done Running.” Available now through NRT Music/Syntax Creative, the upbeat release encourages listeners to step away from the noise of everyday life and make intentional space for God.
The song comes from a season Grove knows personally. While balancing school, work and other responsibilities, the young artist found himself caught up in the constant pace of life. “I’m Done Running” grew from the realization that being busy can sometimes become a distraction, making it easy to lose sight of what matters most.
Inspired by Psalm 46:10 and Matthew 11:28-30, the song shifts the focus from endless movement to slowing down, trusting God and finding peace in Jesus. Rather than treating rest as simply a break from responsibility, Grove presents it as an opportunity to surrender and reconnect with his faith.
Grove explains that the song was also a reminder he needed for himself, particularly as another school year brings its own demands and routines. The message is straightforward: amid everything competing for attention, there needs to be time set aside to step back, pray and spend time with God.
Produced by Eric Haley and written by Grove, “I’m Done Running” combines an energetic Christian pop sound with lyrics about leaving behind fear, unhealthy patterns and the pressure to handle everything alone. At just 16 years old, Grove is also developing his music alongside an active commitment to ministry.
