“Favorite Trapper” marks the second single released this year by Grammy-winning producer Zaytoven and rapper 1K Phew, following the success of their previous track, “On Fire,” in October. The song features Young Dro, renowned for his double-platinum hit “Shoulder Lean” and his affiliation with T.I.’s label, as well as 1K Pson from the 1K Famo collective. Together, these four artists represent the deep roots of their hometown, Atlanta, and bring their unique styles to this energetic record.
1K Phew expresses his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Man, it was crazy putting this track together. Young Dro and Zaytoven are each ATL legends in their own rights, so to have them both on this record with my bro, Pson, was a moment I’ll never forget.” The rapper initially announced the song on December 1st, sharing a behind-the-scenes clip from the studio where Young Dro recorded his verse. Phew hopes that listeners will feel the same energy while listening to the song that they experienced while creating it. He emphasizes that the track conveys a message about the transformative power of God in their lives and that anyone can experience the same.
1K Phew’s love for his hometown of Atlanta is no secret, as he has proudly represented his city since the beginning of his career. Growing up in Lithonia, just east of Atlanta, he has always been an Atlanta native at heart. Now, he aims to ignite a new fire in the streets of Atlanta, inspiring positive change.
In anticipation of the song’s release, 1K Phew has shared the official cover art for the upcoming project. He has also revealed the tracklist, with the unnamed features crossed out, sparking speculation and building anticipation for the official reveal.
With the release of his collaborative project with Lecrae, “No Church in A While,” in 2021, and his debut solo album, “As I Am,” in 2023, 1K Phew has established himself as a household name in Christian hip-hop. Born and raised in Atlanta, he not only aims to create music that leads people to God but also to be a beacon of light in his city. 1K Phew acknowledges that he may not be able to save Atlanta, but he is committed to praying for his city and pointing people towards the One who can make a difference.
Known for his infectious melodies and Atlanta trap sound, 1K Phew is ready to share his music with the world, hoping to inspire not only Atlanta but cities worldwide to take action against violence and darkness by leaning on God and praying for change.
