Acclaimed saxophonist, worship musician and recording artist Isaac Edwards releases his instrumental rendition of “Holy Forever,” offering listeners a fresh and reflective interpretation of the beloved worship song through the expressive sound of the saxophone.
Designed to invite listeners into worship without relying solely on vocals, Edwards’ arrangement allows the saxophone to carry the emotional weight of the song. The performance begins as an instrumental feature, creating space for reflection and personal worship before introducing the original chorus vocals later in the arrangement. The result is a contemplative listening experience that blends instrumental musicianship with the familiar message of a modern worship anthem.
For Edwards, the goal was not simply to create an instrumental cover, but to offer another pathway into worship. “My goal with this project was to create a version that invites people into worship through the sound of the saxophone while remaining faithful to the heart of the original song.”
The arrangement is particularly suited for personal devotion, prayer, quiet reflection and worship-focused listening, allowing the saxophone to communicate the reverence and emotional depth at the center of the song.
Edwards brings an extensive musical background to the release. He graduated from North Central University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance, specializing in saxophone, before earning a Master’s Degree in Music in Jazz Studies from California State University, Long Beach, where he studied with renowned saxophonists Eric Marienthal and Jeff Clayton of the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.
Throughout his career, Edwards has shared stages with respected names across contemporary Christian, jazz, R&B and popular music. He has opened for artists including Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith and has performed at Paisley Park, the former private estate of the late Prince. His performance and recording credits also include work with Kirk Whalum, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Eddie Bullen, Liberty Silver, John Blackwell, Michael Bland, Tommy Barbarella and Darryl Williams, among others.
As a solo artist, Edwards has released two albums, while his previous single “Begin Again” earned recognition on the Billboard Smooth Jazz Chart’s Most Added list.
Beyond his work as a recording artist, Edwards has maintained a strong connection to Christian worship. He has previously served as a worship leader at two churches and continues to volunteer his musical gifts through church ministry, performing on saxophone and keyboards.
His journey also extends beyond music. Edwards holds a law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law and is a practicing litigation attorney, balancing his professional career with his passion for music and worship.
