Vienna singer-songwriter and guitarist Dorothea Sieber is finally sharing her first single, “Plan for Me.” The 23-year-old’s track is rooted in her faith and the quiet, unexpected ways she’s seen God shape her life.
She wrote the song during a stretch of prayer and reflection, letting the lyrics and melody come together as she asked for guidance. “While writing this song, I prayed through every lyric and melody, asking God for guidance,” she says. “‘Plan for Me’ is a testimony of trusting that God has a purpose for our lives even when the path seems unexpected.”
Music wasn’t the plan. Sieber works as a kindergarten teacher and never set out to become a songwriter. Creating this track opened a door she hadn’t expected, one that tied her love of music to her faith in a new way.
The song also carries the weight of a personal milestone. She got married in 2024 at 22, and the decision to trust God’s timing left its mark on the lyrics. “Many people around me didn’t understand why I got married less than a year after meeting my husband,” she explains. “But for me it was part of God’s plan for my life. That experience naturally found its way into the lyrics.”
The chorus lands with quiet conviction: “Going far away but coming back closer than ever. I knew God had a plan for me.”
It points to an earlier chapter, a relationship that pulled her away from God, followed by the season after the breakup when she found herself closer to Him than she’d ever been.
